English

In Writing, we use 'Pathways to Write' scheme of work by 'The Literacy Company'.

In Guided Reading, in Years 2 to 6, we use 'Pathways to Read' scheme of work by 'The Literacy Company'.

Until children are fluent readers, Guided Reading is taught using RWI books that are matched to the reading ability of the group of children in order to give children the opportunity to practise fluency and comprehension. This begins in EYFS.

In Spelling, in Years 2 to 6 (and 1 from Spring), we use the Pathways to Spell scheme.

Spelling in EYFS and Year 1 is based on current phonics and red word teaching according to the RWI scheme.
